NOTE:
The new 1.4 version World of Minecraft client wrappers already have this change applied, all you need to do is put your files in the skin folder.
For 1.3 version client wrappers
To enable easy skinning and texturing of your external minecraft wrapper, do the following steps:
In your World of Minecraft minecraft wrapper folder, create a new folder named skin.
Edit the run.bat file so that the skin folder is the first item searched in the classpath:
Eg, normally it looks like:
-classpath lib\jinput.jar;...;lib\World of Minecraft.jar;lib\minecraft.jar
Change it to:
-classpath skin;lib\jinput.jar;...;lib\World of Minecraft.jar;lib\minecraft.jar
Then go to one of our many texture packs on this site. Download the file then copy it to skin/terrain.png
Run the client, and it will use your new skin from now on.
You can even create multiple skin folders and simply rename the one you want to skin before running the client.

Closely check the texture boxes. If they still are COMPLETELY IDENTICAL, then you have a problem.

I know terrain.png can be modded, as can clouds.png, water.png, rain.png and particles.png.. But can we mod the GUI? I tried changing the crosshair, but it didn't work.

I've put the PNG into my texture folder, but it doesn't work. Here is a copy/paste of my BAT file, tell me if I did something wrong. Also, there is no sub folder in the Skin folder. You just open the Skin folder and my custom skin is right there. (minecraft/skin/<myskin>)

Why haven't there been comprehensive instructions done yet? These are obviously out of date. The only reason I even -have- a run.bat is because I created a text document and -renamed- it run.bat, and putting that line of script in it does absolutely nothing. I have the most recent version of World of Minecraft, which is 1.9.0; It created a skins folder, into which I dropped the TERRAIN.PNG, CLOUDS.PNG, ROCK.PNG, and WATER.PNG that I wish to use. No effect.

I'll try to update this a bit. Maybe it'll clear some things up for people.
(Windows version. I'm not sure how the other ones look, but I'll bet it's similar)
WoM Minecraft wrapper folder = World of Minecraft game client folder
There is no run.bat anymore, it's a .exe now so you can ignore that.
1. Open your World of Minecraft folder
2. Open lib
3. Open default (if a default folder doesn't exist then create one)
4. Place the new file there (in the folder called default) with the exact name as the one in the minecraft.jar. If you still manage to use one of the old World of Minecraft clients that doesn't have a default folder in lib then you need to place the files in the skin folder. (located in the main World of Minecraft folder with native and lib)
5. Run the client, and it will use your new skin from now on.

How to use ur classic texture pack (for World of Minecraft)
1.download ur texture pack u want
2.extract the texture pack
3.cut terrain.png to minecraft(Not minecraft.jar and if u dont have one,extract mincraft.jar)
4.a question will ask u if u want to replace the deafult terrain.png with the texture.press no
5.take the default terrain.png to a folder that u'll remember to take it if u dont want to use the texture pack

First, a skin is not the same as a texture, so this is in the wrong topic, and second, you can not change your skin with World of Minecraft, that is a common misconception. Changing the skin.png actually changes the way that everyone else looks to you. You need to buy minecraft to change your skin.

To install a texture pack (which changes the appearance of the blocks that you see), you need to find a minecraft classic one (there are a bunch on these forums). Then copy the terrain.png (thats the texture pack image) into the folder where it is in World of Minecraft (World of Minecraft/lib/minecraft), and replace the old terrain.png with the new one.
