Thank You. however this doesn't seem to work :\ i did all the steps
What are you talking about? Open the file in an image editor and edit it, then take the minecraft.jar file out of the folder, put it on your desktop, open it, and overwrite the files.
Lilyo, I have minecraft survival, and all, but when I get to the place where there's supposed to be diffrent folders for diffrent types, like creative, and survival, there's only survival... help me?
hey ok i followed the instructions and i changed the image in paint is the ok or does it have to me gimp or photo shop? cuz i removed the shine in the glass but ingame its just black and like the clear parts of the tree is black help T.T
I use Photofiltre to edit my textures, but all transparent part of textures are black because Photofiltre allows transparency only in 256 color mode. Are there any free programs that I can use to make transparency working on "full color" textures and how it is done?
I can't place my minecraft.jar into my desktop. It says that the file is open in Java(TM) Platform SE Binary, and I have no idea what that is... I ain't running minecraft.
it doesnt work for me.will it be different on windows xp laptops?
So I put the correct run name in and the only folder I have is the 'Minecraft' folder. I have the downloadable version of alpha at home (and yes, I bought it) but I can't reskin it. Help please?
I'm not sure why but I can't seem to open any of the things in the jar file. I use windows rar but I'm not sure the path is right. Here's the error:
! C:\Documents and Settings\*********\Local Settings\www.minecraft.net\Minecraft\minecraft.jar: Cannot open C:\Documents and Settings\********\Local Settings\www.minecraft.net\Minecraft\minecraft.jar
! The system cannot find the path specified.
When i opened the %temp%/minecraft.net folder, there was no
Minecraft_infdev
&
Minecraft_sneakpeek
folders there... and i bought the game. Why is it not showing up?
Maybe you have the alpha version and then those maps won't be there because you have another version of minecraft, should that be it?
how do u download the battle tower mods im having the most trouble with that
=D
When I try to remake the items on the Terrain.png on for example, glass, I can't see through, I tried making the center black, white, all kinds of stuff, the default was black, but I still can't see through. Same things happen with Torches, plants, saplings, other things that doesn't fill up a whole block, I am just having their background (I put it on black as default in the beginning), it would just fill a whole block with that color, meaning rails and ladders is absolutely fatal. I don't know if I will see this, so please, if possible, contact me by email on "Mustach@live.dk", thanks browskies.
this works fine iv been doing this for the year so if dose not work
I'm wondering how I would increase the pixel size for any given texture allowing me to make everything more detailed. I figure it must have something to do with how each skin is defined in the code. Could someone give step-by-step instructions as to how I would be able to do this without crashing the game (it actually doesn't matter to much because I back everything up).
im also having trouble
i created a folder and extracted all the .png files and the pack.txt and map.txt
than i replaced the pumpkinblur with a HUD from another game
when i put the folder into a new .zip file, the texture pack didnt work
Guys, Paint doesnt support enough opacity used to be able to see through items. plus, you have to use the eraser, not white. Try Gimp or Paintshop (gimp is free while paintshop costs). ive been using gimp and it works perfectly. (if you use gimp, the checkered background means blank space that you will be able to see through)
go to Run and enter %appdata%
open your roaming folder, double click .minecraft and open your bin folder.
open mincraft.jar with winrar and scroll down till you see terrain.png
open it and right click the image. prefered you open it with gimp or paint shop.
edit it till you are satisfied. then exit out of the image and you will get save and replace options.
DO NOT edit the fire text or the plain blue box. AT ALL! FIRST AND FINAL WARNING!
hope it works for ya!
But how can i make that to be able for others and appear in the ''mods and texturepacks'' section in minecraft?
