Installing textures easily!

We are cracking down on Texture Pack posts which link to third party sites.
Many of these posts require people to do surveys and click cash links which end up not giving you the download anyway. We have even had reports of some 3rd party sites hosting viruses.
If you want to post up texture packs please upload the files on WorldOfMinecraft.com or host them on a legit 3rd party site.
We are now removing violating posts with out warning and repeat offenders will be banned.

Thank you. Not like i'd ever do a survey on a foreign sight just to play on a different type of graphics. It's just annoying that they advertise an amazing texture pack and then put it on a scam site that makes you enter your phone number and then bills you monthly.

I hate those survey sites, you have to pay real money in one way or another to make it through them via getting a text message or having to sign up for some bullcrap you don't want.

These have been bugging me alot. In case you didn't know already the people posting these did not make the packs and are just trying to make money off of them.

I, for one, was getting tired of these stupid scam sites that forced you to do surveys just to get a terrain file (If you even get one.) and at least one of them gave me some kind of malware that screwed up my computer.
I, for one, am grateful that you are finally cleaning up the scam sites. They were getting on not only my nerves, but the nerves of everyone else.

free is classic servers. theres no crafting u just get a certain amount of bloks and u can bild wat u want. in beta (full version) u can craft ur tools and u have to make everything. betas more fun in my opinion.

A texture pack is a collection of files that is used to change the in-game textures of blocks, items, mobs and the GUI. They are zip files that have various PNG images in them and a pack.txt. The native resolution of Minecraft's Texture is 16×16 (measured pixels in block height and width). 32×32, 64×64, 128×128, 256×256 and 512×512 are referred to as ‘HD’ and requires a 3rd party patcher to run. Official support for 16×16 texture packs was added in Alpha 1.2.2. The crash with high resolution texture packs was fixed in Beta 1.8, but they still don't work correctly with the unpatched client.
All versions of Minecraft support custom textures, albeit old versions require you to modify the minecraft.jar file. High resolution texture packs are supported on all versions without a patch, however certain textures have errors or may not be changed.
