I bought Minecraft the other day and downloaded 1.6.2. I tried to log in to SMP that night but the server was 1.5.2. Tonight when I learned I could play as 1.5.2 with the new launcher I tried to log into SMP again but it was labeled as 1.6.2 so when I tried it with 1.6.2 I got this error: Failed To Login: Bad Login. Do i have to update my World of Minecraft account to my new Minecraft account or did I just screw up? Would also appreciate confirmation on update to 1.6.2

Thank you very much, I went to whitelist my new account but apparently for some reason I tried to whitelist my old account I used for classic (KorkTh3Beast) instead of my new account (KorkTheBeast). Is there a way to whitelist a different account? It won't let me submit my new one.

Right now there is no way to undo your mistake and whitelist another name without creating another forum account. However, since i'm the one helping you, and i'm awesome, I went ahead and whitelisted you on the server so you don't have to. Feel free to join any time.

Yeah that looks right to me. If you still can't get online, I would wait a few hours and then try again. Also, try logging in a few times in a row and see if ever gives you a different error.
You can use that, or also try smp.womjr.com
You sure your username is KorkTheBeast? No numbers or underscores or anything right?

I was getting the bad login error yesterday, seems to fix when I exit the launcher, open it again, click log out, then log back in. Then try again and it works.

Yes, the server is currently 1.6.2. If you've never been on SMP before make sure you whitelist you minecraft username (not your World of Minecraft account username) here: http://www.worldofminecraft.com/Minecraft_Servers.
After you've made sure your minecraft username is in that box, try joining the server again. It may take a couple trys depending on if there is a lot of traffic at the time you're trying to log in.
