I've tried posting in another thread, but absolutely nothing has come of it, so I'm making my own.

I am trying to play minecraft on my desktop but after it loads the
screen just goes black. Nothing else happens, I've let it wait for an
hour, and nothing.

I'm running an ATI Radeon HD 4550 graphics card.

YES I have the latest driver.

YES I have the latest Java.

YES I have uninstalled/reinstalled Java, minecraft, and my graphics driver.

YES I have deleted the entire, and small parts of the .minecraft folder.

NO my computer is not too inferior to play minecraft, it's specs are
better than my laptop which I've been using to play on medium settings
without problem.

Can someone give me something new to try?
