*note, im really new to this kind of thing, im new to using ip addresses as well* well, Im trying to make my first minecraft server online. And I myself can get on, but my friend can't. I was following this video guide, and i was able to mimic everything the guy in the video did until he typed his ip into his browser which brought him to a website to mess with the ports. When i tried typing my gateway ip or w/e i get nothing. Turns out, i have an'arris' modem connected to a mac 'airport extreme base station' router. so im guessing thats why my gateway ip and IPv4 address are 10.0.1.1 and 10.0.1.8...so Im really lost, what do i do, how can i have my friend connect? Also, the ip i use to connect to the server is like...67.170.171.1 or something like that.  Im honestly not sure if im making any sense, no clue what to do. basically, mayday roger 9ner9ner alpha mayday alpha bravo requesting backup, over!!1one   please help me  :'(
