I've been trying to run MC on my older laptop, but it always crashes when the game tries to load up.  It tells me i have bad drivers

I've reinstalled my drivers but it doesn't seem to help.  There is an issue which is probably relate.  A while back I tried to run a game on this laptop which it couldn't handle, and i think i damaged the video card.  There are think red streaks on my screen.  They're annoying but minor and i've learned to live with them.  I'm not sure how a damaged video card could give a bad video card reading, but hopefully someone does.  Anyway i can fix or sidestep this issue?
