What is "grief?"
Grief is when one player intentionally removes, destroys or steals from another player. Grief is very bad and can get you banned on this server.
What does grief look like?
Its pretty obvious if you see grief. Most griefers take seemingly random objects out of walls or floors. Others just aim for valuables and chests. If a building has a pattern or rhythm, look for places where it looks like blocks are missing or were taken.
These two houses are griefed.
What do I do if I find grief?
Report it to an admin, mod or trusted if no mod or admin are online. If a mod or admin are griefing you, (or no staff/trusted are online) report it immediately. Include as much information as possible.
How do I prevent grief?
Right click two corners of the ground with a wooden shovel to claim land. This will prevent anyone from building in the claimed area. The area must be 4 blocks by 4 blocks or it won't work. Use /trust to let people build, use chests and click wooden and stone buttons. /permissiontrust lets someone trust another person, ONLY use this when you REALLY trust someone! /accesstrust lets someone click buttons and levers, but not build. /containertrust lets them access your chests, dispensers, droppers, hoppers ANYTHING with inventory, but not build or use levers or buttons.
You will get banned, if you dont its a bonus...
Sometimes it gets to a point where you can no longer see the building, and that makes it a lot harder to actually find the griefed building - even for the owner. They can use a block rollback plugin, but they would need to know the general areas first.
In that case, we really only need to find the username of the user who griefed. Which is easy to do
If there is extensive grief by one person, it's not tough to rollback everything they ever touched on the server and ban them. We would obviously only do that if someone joined the server with the sole purpose of griefing everything, but still, it's not tough to do.
Our log never lies. If it wasn't you, but another person on your account, then I can tell you this: Your account is your responsibility.

Honestly I see no point in griefing, but there you go. I guess that's what cheers some people up.
