Hey players,
Okay, so this might not very off topic here, and if I'm disobeying some rule or offending anyone then I really don't mean to and I apologize beforehand.
I'm a freelance writer and one of my clients has given me the task to write a few eBooks on Minecraft. Problem: I don't know anything about Minecraft. Now even though I can do the writing and researching, I need pictures to attach as well. So, I kinda need some angel to help me out.
I just need info and pictures from the game. But, I guess many of you might think: What's in it for me? Well, how about $50 and a big thank you from a very desperate writer. It's easy money for a player. How can you trust me? Well, just contact me and I'll give you proof of my reliability and we can discuss the details.
Again, I apologize if someone thinks this isn't proper. I just thought who better to ask help from than actual players.
Anyways, hope to recieve some postive responses.
Thanks.
Hey,
Thanks, but I need some specific information, about mods, maps, texture packs, seeds and as such. And I don't think I can become a pro in a day even if I start playing it. I was hoping to get some information from a player that would be willing to send pictures as well. Maybe that's a bit too much to ask but hoping some one is kind enough to do so.
A good site to look up is www.minebook.me. That site is basically Facebook for Minecraft. On the homepage are some rescently posted screenshots by actual players. I recommend that you look into the Mjnecraft Community as well by possibly watching youtubers like the Yogcast, CaptainSparklez, or SkyDoesMinecraft. Visiting Forum, like this one, also helps to attain knowledge about Minecraft Communities. Hopefully you get some good information.
hello info_collector,
The summarization from Jupiter_Ginger is one of the best i've ever read, i will only add some personal things:
Minecraft isn't a game like others (i've heard, it's the second greatest community on youtube after the cats-stuff), which you just play from start to ending. That means, only some screenshots hardly won't do it.
You will surely find millions of screenshots and videos of the builds of many many users (and all of us can send u some without taking money for it i think), but to write an ebook about it, to understand what minecaft really is, u can't simply collect some screens.
Let us invite u to join this big community, and just try it out a bit. It's simply hard to explain the magic of one of the most successful games of the last decades.
And also the mindset of the creator Markus Persson is very important. He made a lot of money with the game, without annoying the gamers with copy protection or restrictive technics.
I'm not sure, if you will be able to write an ebook of a game you never played... espacially if it's minecraft, because it's not just only a "game", it's more a virtual environment for fantasy and creativity.
But if you really want it "short" (perhaps no time), we can do some Screens like "this is a building (pyramid, tower, fortress, whatever)", "this is a cow and a pig", "these are big mountains", "this is an evil mob (creeper)", "look, my new skin", "this is a plundered mineshaft", "this was griefed" and so on...
You forgot hardcore mode.
Hardcore mode is a fourth game mode that can only be activated when you start a new world. Once you begin playing on hardcore mode it is impossible to go between the other 3 modes anymore. What hardcore mode primarily consists of is that all of the monsters become harder to fight against, and you only have one life. Once this life is gone, your world will be deleted. If you wish to experience hardcore mode I will make the same suggestion my peers have made. You can either download the game, or watch one of the several hardcore mode series on youtube.
Hardcore mode is basically the same as survival mode. Except with no respawns. When i said gamemode i meant the gamemodes you can change between with /gm. Hardcore is more of a difficulty mode.
