helpless idiot in need of cleverdom

my minecraft game is damned when im trying to log onto a server... it just says:
"Failed to connect to the server
Connection timed out: Connect"
no matter what server, and i've tried the basic things, as reinstall minecraft, removing texture packs, but it does'nt help. I hope u know the problem and how to fix it.
