And just got the game a few days ago, and i LOVE it! But since i dont have friends at my age playing minecraft, i would really like to make some new friends to play with :) I see that i can use a server that i found the adress to here, but i was wondering, if i enter this server, will i be able to claim some piece of land to build my own house own and keep my stuff safe? Sorry, lots of questions, but i am trying to learn alot, and it is still a little confusing with rules when it comes to online multiplaying.

Also, if hunting and gathering isn't your cup of tea, there are lots of shops, towns, and friendly players who would be willing to lend a hand.
Also here's a piece of extra advice. You will spawn in a room with some portals in it when you start. If you want to play survival, go into the one labeled SMP.

Well i have tried it and it looks really good! But after five minuttes the game lagged so bad that i got killed by a zombie! I also was so afraid of violatint rules ingame that i did not even dare to chop down a tre! But i have to read over the rules again, i guess i i do chop down a tree i replant the sapling? And i guess i also can go down in the caves mining? Well, of to read some rules :)

This is basically the answer:
If something is not claimed, you can destroy or build anything EXCEPT for unclaimed buildings. The way to tell if something is claimed, is if when you destroy something, if it says nothing then that means it is not claimed. If it says that it is claimed by a person, it is obviously claimed. Unclaimed buildings mean the builder doesn't know how to claim, doesn't have a wooden shovel, or forgot to claim. Respect any builds that aren't claimed. If something like a tree isn't claimed, you can destroy it and you don't have to replant.
