The only way to get skin support is a client for it, and no one can see it unless they have the same thing.

I thought the only way to get a skin was to get premium, then your skin would show up in classic? Unless they don't do that anymore.

Like jupiter said you must have a premium Mojang account for a custom skin to display in any version of minecraft, Classic or Retail.
