I've wanted to make a small server, just to let people check out the maps I want to make. I'll probably figure out how to make one eventually, but I'm confused at to what type of server I need for the things I want to do.

I'll need inf resources like in classic (with switchable skins), but also want newer items like torches, and abilities like flight, speed and noclip. Multiple worlds I can portal to are also important.

Between classic, beta and hacks to support either, I don't know what to do. Can someone please give me a better idea of what I'll need to download to get started?
