hi guys,
I am trying to host a server just for me and a friend to play MP. i have tried to connect to "localhost" and also my internal IP address, but i just get an error saying,
"java.net.connectexception: connection refused: no further information:"
any help with this please? i am not very knowledgeable with servers etc ut have basic PC understanding.
as i said its just for a friend and myself to play on no mods or anything just vanilla minecraft.

Are you running the server when you do this and are you running a server or running minecraft in that mode that lets people on your local network join?

I am trying to play on a server so my friend can join. I load MC the click multiplayer, I have tried direct connect and typed in localhost and I have also tried typing in my IP address but I get the error. If I try adding server with the same info I get a cannot connect message.
i basically want to use my network as the server!
