MCBans.com:
It recently came to our attention that a list of approximately 1,000 Minecraft account names and passwords were made freely available on the internet. We believe this list consists of information collected by a group of malicious users from a well known "griefing team". How the information in this list was obtained is not sure, but we suspect they collected them through the use of hacked clients (that pretend to only give you extra features like flying or seeing through blocks but actually send your account information to the creators as well) or websites made to look like the official Minecraft site.
We urge you to change your passwords immediately at Minecraft.net. If you use the same password for anything Minecraft related i.e WoMRealms.com or on our forums please change them as-well to be on the safe side.
The official WoM Game Client is only distributed by us (WorldofMinecraft.com) and is available from the downloads section. Any other clients labeled "World of Minecraft Game Client" should not be trusted and are not legitimate.
On another note, please be careful when downloading plugins\addons for your server. You should only trust sites that are well known within the community.
Sources we trust:
WorldofMinecraft.com
MinecraftForum.net
Crafthub.net
MinecraftNews.net
McBans.com
If you have any concerns or problems, please feel free to reply with comment and I will try to help.
Maybe you should tell Mc Bans that as they are the ones that discovered it and we don't have the list.
As for the client it's easy to tell, it will say "World of Minecraft Game Client" and you can only download it from here. Oh wait I already covered that.
Probably they thinking aVo, a team of griefers who have managed to kill their servers, are getting more accounts to use. It's unlikely that they did it, probably some people with no accounts who can't make PayPal work.
But I think you made an error in your writing, cuz I dont see how something like woWrealms.com can be connected to minecraft, you may want to change that W into an M ;p
Thanks for the lists, I use most of those.
i use my minecraft username and pass for like 6 other things...
Is world-of-minecraft.com a safe site?
I would not trust because that is a clone of http://www.worldofminecraft.com/ when World of Minecraft had staff corruption but it is your choice.
We agree with World of Minecraft and we are also encourage our members to change their passwords and informing them of the risks / www.Minecraftnews.net
Note: Your account may be in harms way even if you think you are safe, so better safe then sorry!

I don't know about you but that seems a little fishy. Especially considering his join date here was... today. O_o
He's saying to join www.klondikecraft.com or to go to it one.
Just a bit of advice for everyone.. if a website wasn't listed here, don't go to it for the time being. Especially if it's somewhere you've never seen or heard of until recently.

Btw, if you're stupid enough to fall for something like this:

... then yea you deserve to have your account jacked. xD
guys, for everyone to check if their minecraft account is hacked:
how do i apply for mod?
WoM Coins: 1928
if u have access to this list u should post the names of the players affected (not the passwords)
also maby you could intergrate a "thing" into the client so players can tell its not a scam client as stated above
