I found out about Minecraft about a few days ago, and I liked it so much I got my friends to join me. Recently, I set up a server using MCsharp for our community. It has some really great stuff (who wouldn't say that about their own server haha), but unfortunately guests cannot see some of the great things we make. One of our maps is a resort hotel building kind of thing. It was so cool I decided to share it with you guys.

That's the .lvl file. Remember that this is not a template, so a lot of things have already been customized to a player's liking and such. You would have to do a bit of cleaning up before you use it for yourself, but it's not too much effort and worth it. Includes a building with an elaborate staircase, an elevator, 6x6 (36) rooms, a main lobby floor, and a reserved floor. A beach is located outside on the side with the even-numbered rooms.
Basically it works like this. People go up to the reception desk (roleplaying lol) and select a floor (3-8) and a room (1-6). Once they select one they are taken to their room. Each room has a logo in an op_glass window so that they can "mark" their own rooms. The building is made of adminium and layered with something else, so builders can change the colors of their walls. This makes the building sturdy and safe, while being fully customizable.
A few things to note:
- The glass surrounding the stairs isn't finished yet.
- The excess amounts of op_glass in the first floor are meant to prevent people from going upstairs without permission. Remove if desired.
- The wall in the first floor is used for demonstration purposes. Remove if desired.
- Some walls aren't finished but we're not even sure if we're gonna make them, so they're optional.
- There is active_water on the beach shores, but there is an adminium wall located somewhere under the sand, making it impossible for regular builders to flood the map.
- Unoccupied rooms have adminium doors, and should be replaced manually by a door block type once a user selects the room.
- The second floor is reserved for any other facilities you might want, such as a gym, auditorium, cafeteria, etc.
- The building as a whole is quite plain and empty, so decorate it how you like.
- The outside of the building could be decorated, if desired,as it is right now just adminium.
- Once again, since this isn't really a template, you have to clean out some of the rooms before you use it. But it's not too hard and doesn't take very long.
The whole point of this is to give each person a "home" they can use that is close to other people, easily accessible, and organized. If you have a bunch of friends who Minecraft, or you have a busy, server with a close community, this is great to have. In conjunction with other maps (/goto), you can really add a new depth to your game/community/roleplaying. There is also quite a bit of land left outside of the building, so you can add extra houses or attach more stuff to the building itself or anything else.
This is the first serious big building we've made, so constructive criticism is appreciated. This is also my first post so I don't know how people will react to this. If there is anything I forgot I'll just post again (edit if possible). I probably spewed a lot of text by now so I'll shut up lol. Enjoy!
