Hi.
I got a new old PC (i.e. new for me, but it's kinda old ... a friend of mine gave it to me because his father wanted to dump it ...).
It works really fine, but i just can't get Minecraft to run in any playable way. Some data about the PC:
- 32bit
- Debian 6 (squeeze)
- Kernel linux 2.6.32-5-686
- Gnome 2.30.2
- 4GB RAM (of which 3.2GB are recognized and while running 2.3GB are free [checked with free -m])
- Dual Core @ 2.66GHz (#1: 5.0% used, #2: 3.2% used while running)
- 134,5GB free space on /dev/sda
- Graphics just onboard...the graphics card wasn't recognized by Debian...
I already bought 2GB of RAM (it just had 2GB when i got it), thinking it might speed the whole thing up (and get Minecraft working, at least i read it would help...).
Now I'm not sure what to update next; should i buy a graphics card? If, how "good" should it be? I'm a Java-programmer myself, but i don't know if that would solve the problem, because i never coded a game or a program with any fancy graphics :P
Can anyone help me please? I'm a little confused ;-)
Thanks in advance and greets
