Hey everyone, I'm new here so I hope I'm not breaking any of the rules (I did read them) but here's my problem:
I'm running a PC server (1.5.2) and have all of my port-forwarding and firewall settings setup to allow access as per various tutorials. When my Mac using roommate tries to connect to my server, he gets a connection refused message. However, when I have PC/Linux using friends try to connect over the internet, it works fine. I think that it's probably one of two things:
1) There's some sort of Mac compatability issue that I'm not aware of (not being a Mac user myself)
or
2) Since we're both using the same local router/modem that there's some kind of internal network conflict which prohibits normal online connection.
Also, I'm positive that he's running 1.5.2, so it's not a version issue.
I'd appreciate any help this community could provide. Thanks!
I'm using the Server jar file. He should be able to connect to my server through the internet even though he's on the same router right? I don't see why that shouldn't work.

are you using the LAN settings in the minecraft client or did you download the minecraft_server.exe(.jar) file and launched that?
