OpenGL Out of Memory Fix

My server is so large that I need to use a special patched version of World of Minecraft for my users to stay connected for more than 3 minutes.
It's World of Minecraft 1.5.9 with -Xmx500M added to the java startup.
Could this line be added to the java startup 1.6.3 uses? Or maybe have a command line option for it?
