Is there any way to zoom in on MC with out any mods? Or would you have to download a mod like for example optifine?

Get 1.4.6 version unless you want to play singleplayer. A stable bukkit server hasn't come out yet for 1.5 so a lot of good servers won't be up till that happens. (which will be in like 3 days or a week or two)

@Yenwood, Even if servers are not using a 1.5 bukkit build they are using Spigot to let 1.5 clients connect.

Or you could rename the jar file to .zip to open it.
I suggest downloading 7-Zip though as it is free and will open the jar file without renaming it.

- I actually got OptiFine today.
- OptiFine hates me, my minecraft jar got soo messed up I had to delete it. And all my stuff is gone... (along with all my server lists)
- I got it with 7-zip instead ot Winrar. oh and also, I wont be installing a mod soon again =/ xD

What did you do to your jar? did you download the optifine file from the official website? http://optifine.net To mod:
1. Open jar with 7zip
2. Delete META-INF folder
3. Drag optifine file into jar
4. Go on minecraft and see if it works! (Don't have your .minecraft folder open while you play minecraft)

Why the hell did you delete ALL of the folders anyway?
You really only need to delete the Bin folder or just Force-update to get a clean installation again. You wouldn't even lose anything :D

get MagicLauncher to get Optifine going, its created by the same guy

Yeah, ssf person is right. Magiclaucher is easy and doesn't modify the .jar, so it doesn't destroy anything.
