Have there always been zombies on SMP? Because I killed one and I was freaking out. Here is a screenshot I took. I always assumed that they were turned off, was this just a glitch?

How come I've only seen one in the whole time I've been playing? Are there different settings for them?

Hostile mobs are not turned off, they are just very very broken. They can still spawn.

hostle mobs are always allowed on SMP to spawn so no its not a glitch
