I recently bought Minecraft and downloaded the .exe file. When I run the file it allows me to enter my Username and Password but when it goes to the updating screen the bar gets stuck at about a centimeter and it says Downloading Packages.

- The same thing happens when I try to play in the Browser, I have tried both Firefox and IE
-This is my first time running it and it says I need to play online before I play offline if I don't input anything into the Username and Pass.
- It creates an empty bin folder in the .minecraft folder. I have tried deleting just the bin and also the whole .minecraft but it doesn't work.
- I have tried running it as an administrator but it doesn't work.
- I have tried doing this but it says it can't access jarfile minecraft.jar:

In the folder where your Minecraft.exe file is, create a file called
Minecraft.bat. Open Minecraft.bat with notepad and put this in it:
java -Xmx768M -Xms256M -jar minecraft.jar
After doing that, rename Minecraft.exe to Minecraft.jar
Run minecraft.bat

- My firewall has javaw.exe as a exception

- I am using Vista with G Data antivrus if that helps anyone.

I guess if nothing else works I can request a refund within one week right?
