If you're talking about the rank/title under your name, yes points do rank you up.
If you're talking in game, it's all up to staff to decide

The pickaxe is for determining your rank in-game on the server and do note that they have like a bronze, silver and gold ranking of sorts.
The sword represents your prowess in the mob arena (the higher your ranking the better the sword). Finally, the helmet represents your PvP ranking.
Also the rankings in-game, staff for this server are specially hand-picked from the current staff and forum rankings only go to contributor and thats IF you contribute (Ex. Post stuff on the forums) and to go any further you must be staff.
Also, don't upvote everything. I see your points skyrocketing. I'm trying to pull you away from a fire. Also you haven't read the rules. I strongly advise you do.

Acually, you can become an epic contributor, but you cant go any further than that unless u get promoted
