I'm lost and I cant find an answer, I am SURE it's somewhere but, I can't find it.

I have the newest version of World of Minecraft. I download a texture pack and put it in the skins folder and nothing happens. I can not find any CLEAR direction here on how upgrade the look of my "blocks" as the standard stuff is getting really old. There is mixed information and it seems anything I can find is for older versions and it says with newer versions just dump it into the skins folder but, nothing happens.

I got into the Texture directory on here and there is verisons for 1.5, 1.6.1.7..then there is 16X16 64X64, 128X128, 256X256 (and so on)... What can I use, and what CANT I use ? Can I use the highest res images on World of Minecraft ?

What do I really need to know to be able to add a texture to World of Minecraft 3.0 ???

Thanks in advance !

The thing is, World of Minecraft (the

The thing is, World of Minecraft 3.0 (the classic client you are talking about) Uses a COMPLETELY different texture image setup than what you are looking at on here (which are made for the Full release version) Therefore even if you did get it to work, your blocks would all look incorrect. Also 16x16 is the resolution you'd be looking for anyway.

If you are still set on changing the texture, find a texture pack made for the classic version of minecraft. After that, you must place the texture file in this location:
(Folder you saved client in)\lib\minecraft
Rename the old terrain file (called terrain.png) to something like terrain1.png then name the NEW texture, which you are putting in, to terrain.png (.png is the file extension, it should already have this so just name it "terrain")

After this just load your client and the texture should be changed. If not, I'm not sure what went wrong but nothing else I can really do to help you further.

Interesting...Thanks for your help, I remember reading that there was a Skin folder for these type of things, How does that work or is that just for the interface of World of Minecraft ?
