So I've been quietly watching, reading, and sparingly posting amongst numerous Minecraft community forums, and I still constantly wonder to myself... What could a game like Minecraft possibly hold for the future?  It's a brilliantly designed game, no one can deny that.  With its topical simplicity hiding its interior complexity, and an endless freedom to create, destroy, design, and most importantly, imagine.  Still, it certainly isn't perfect, and like every game, it has its limits.  Or does it?

So again I come to the question, could this block-based, low-grade, simply complex, ingenious indie game become a "game changer" (no pun intended) in the gaming industry?  Or will it reach a dead end and fall into the abyss of "time-passer games"?  Please tell me what you think...
