World of Minecraft Client Issue

I've noticed there are at least 2 0KB files in all of the folders when you extract it, preventing the program, or at least my Unzipper, from unzipping the right files/folders. When extracted, there will be the World of Minecraft client folder with a MACOSX_ file and a World of Minecraft....1.5.9 file, both 0KB which I'm sure can't be right.
I've taken to dragging out what I believe to be the necessary files and folders, placing the .JAR file into the lib folder and running the .BAT file. It'll show a command prompt screen and then the server list but will freeze when I choose which server to play on.
This happens on all servers.
Any information on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.
