Happy New Year everyone!

With the start of 2014 well upon us, we look forward to another exciting year at World of Minecraft. Special thanks to: Snow, Spuds and the rest of World of Minecraft staff for doing a super job setting up the new SMP.

After this issue I will be starting a section called “Back in the Day…” where I will be sharing old chat logs, screenshots and past experiences from earlier on when I first started coming on the World of Minecraft servers. If anyone else has old screenshots or stories to share from back in the day, contact me to put them in the next issue or post in the comments below

Announcements/Reminders:

• ·Jupiter_Ginger has added new requirements for warps in SMP —

Warps now cost 200,000 in server currency. Since it is time consuming to earn that much alone, groups of players are encouraged to work together for community/town warps and each save up a share of the 200k. Note: full payment is to be paid from ONE person when purchasing the warp. --there are several ways to get around the map in the meantime even if it’s not right away: Roads (and horses :D), railway systems and the nether. Fun project possibilities!

• CHAT channels: Remember back when SMP/PVP had clans and everyone could talk in a separate clan chat? I do, and this is slightly like that. If you are having trouble keeping track of your conversations with other users, type /red /green /yellow or /blue to enter a separate channel to talk to specific players. Type /link to switch back. Check main post for more info.

CMP News:

There have been a lot of new projects going on in Creative Multi-Player. One in particular is a really cool castle that Takous and GorakkHowk are working on -

CMP is a great way to explore the new biomes quickly and easily and get a feel for build ideas. You will need to claim areas to build on however, but a pressure pad at spawn allows you to get as many claimblocks as you desire! End and Nether portals are disabled but when CMP first came out during early release, someone was lucky enough to see the End before it got disabled.

SMP News:

We had some fun activites as we entered the New Year. For starters, I decided to try finding the second stronghold, and eventually I did! iusedapick and IssacOzzman came by to look around. Turns out the second stronghold is literally cut in half by a huge ravine! I plan to do some work on it and turn it into a base for everyone to use. 

At one point I thought I had found another spawner but instead it was a natural mob spawn room that could have passed for a spawner if it wanted to:

Later I wandered around looking at some of the new houses around spawn:

New Years Eve was exciting as several players explored the map some more during their New Year's celebrations. Shadow, Evil_Clanmaster and I found a Savannah Plateau biome, which now make the Extreme Hills biome look like small hills in comparison:

Later captmack joined in and Sonardo shot off fireworks on top of one of the mountains - up past 205!
