Apologies for the lack of warning with this one:
We've been in the process of migrating to another server. Unfortunately we slightly misjudged the old server cut-off timings which is why the server is down at the moment.
The website has already been shifted onto a different server so that will *hopefully* remain up.
The Minecraft server won't be on the same server as the website anymore which makes an accurate ETA awkward at this point.
I'll post an ETA once I can provide one that I believe will be accurate.
Please post any questions below and I'll answer if I can.

Try and remember that World of Minecraft is free. The work that is being done could expensive. Be great full for what we had and what we will have.

Is there a particular benefit not having the two things located on the same server?

An obvious benefit is having the website to announce or ask about the game server being down.

Website servers and Gameplay servers are different. World of Minecraft pays a company to host a server that also runs other games as well. H4X pays them, so the other games/ advertising on this site must make money.

Do server transfers always take a few days to complete?

I should step out from the shadows and let you all know that this is my fault, I decided to change providers and moved the website (and other web related things) to the new platform however ran out of time for the game server.
In the coming days when I get more time (I'm flat out with my real life job) I will have a new game server spun up, the data restored and everyone can get back to playing.
Apologies for the down time but be happy that it is all coming back at the same low, low cost of free.

you along with Snow and spuds do so much behind the scenes that this little delay shouldnt matter all that much H4X besides i mean at least you took responsbilty for it instead of pushing it off on others you get 1+ in my book for that ^^

RP,ADS,GC, I've tried some great servers, but always come back to World of Minecraft. no admin giving players beacons or chests of diamonds, no pay to win or mod silliness, just MC at it's purest and intended form. Good work, gents!

I highly doubt the IP or the name would be changed.
If anything, the IP may change before the name does.

Can we get a status on the server migration so we have some idea when the game might be able to be accessed again?

The server is back up and running though we are on slightly reduced hardware specs. The numbers have been tweaked accordingly. Please ping me on discord or drop me a message if you have issues. - spuds

Is there any way to donate to the server funds? I've loved World of Minecraft since 2011, and it's been a huge part of my Minecraft experience (about 99% of it, because, a ) who does single player after discovering World of Minecraft and b ) what other servers are there once you play on World of Minecraft?) and want to contribute in any way possible.

If the timings were misjudged, will I lose any progress?
Unfortunately there may be some loss of progress, we'll be working from the most recent backup though so there shouldn't be much lost.
Why do we have things on two servers?
Previously we didn't, the simple answer is cost. There's hosting plans out there that should let us save a few dollars by splitting the two.
Unfortunately while we can run the website at the moment we don't have enough grunt on that server to put the server on there.
