Another big thing, is maybe your computers might not handle all thats going on inside the game as well as it could with the previous updates. I find I can run 1.8 just fine, no lag really (unless i really try). Hell, even some of the bugs that people say "crash" them, i've tried, and nothing happened. So idk, might just be the computer, might be the 1.8 version, might be how well the game wants to run. Who knows?

But heres the other thing i never lag on beta 1.7.3 and i just got 1.8 and now i lag on 1.8 so....

1.8 was a pre-release, and it is laggy because of a few things. One, When playing on an old level, you might experience lag for an unknown reason. Two, when starting a new level, the code for lever creation has a very wide memory leak. Three, when loading the chunks from a 1.8 server, you get lag because during the process of the server and you transferring data, when the server replies with more, it is beginning to reply too quickly. Thats the main reasons why there is a huge amount of lag, and expect them to be fixed in later versions of 1.8.
