All my Minecraft Servers got wiped out. HELP PLEASE HELP

Usual day in Minecraft. Playing on a Vanilla server but then suddenly I get disconnected then when I try to reconnect all my servers are gone! When I opened my servers.dat file with notepad all it said was "servers". PLEASE HELP ME PLEASEE!!!!

Can you provide more details?
Windows/mac?
But unless you have a backup you're probably not getting them back...
