The font really hurts my eyes and just isn't that appealing to me, anyways to change it? It would be cool if we could disable/change the font in the /client command.

If you read the announcement Triddin made when World of Minecraft 1.7.5 was released, you'll see that it is possible to do so.
"For those that want the old font/chat style, simply copy lib/minecraft/default.png to lib/default, then set /client fontaa off."
