So I did everything I needed such as extracting the client, downloading minecraft.jar and placing it in the "lib" folder. I then press run.bat and and it says that it's autodetecing java, that it finds it, what directory it finds it and that it's starting up. But then a message shows up saying:
The newest one.
Is there a place I could download older versions?
If you're on Windows 7 or Vista, right click run.bat and select "Run as administrator". See if that works.
Sorry this does not work. I also tried running it in different modes editing the run.bat to make sure it was going to the Java folder and still nothing :(
I got the same problem, I'm on XP
this is the exact same error i am getting :(
here are my specs
Windows 7 32bit
2gb RAM
nVidia 8600GT 512mb
And i am using Java 6 update 18
"Autodetecting Java
Testing default folder
Checking C:\Program Files\Java\jre6 folder
Found Java in C:\Program Files\Java\jre6 folder
Starting Java from "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\Java.exe"
Then this pops up
"Downloading update. Please Wait"
Then this in the same window that poped up
"The application will now quit. it should pick up the updated applet
version when restarted."
Sigh.... no one knows anything?
Did you try to simply restart without tampering with it?
Yeah i did, i also completely uninstalled it and then download a fresh copy and still nothing :(
First thing I see; "The application will now quit" and something about updating.
Next thing I see, "FAILED TO RUN JAVA DERP DERP"
