Authenticate

When i first click on the "World of Minecraft" application the login box comes in fine. I type in my user name, Foemilod. and i type in my password: ********* and hit sign in. than it closes and waits about 5 seconds before giving me an error message that reads:
"Unable to authenticate
Your username/password may be incorrect or there are no servers to validate your login."
any ideas?

I get this all the time. I've seen posts say that its because the World of Minecraft site is down. Which isn't the case because its happening to me right now and I'm posting on this site which is World of Minecraft...
