When I click to pick up water, it doesn't work. simple as that. can someone show pictures of a full bucket, if it changes when it has water in it?

You can only harvest the 'spring block'. That's the original block that flows and makes the rest of the river.

find he source of a spring and then right click or find a sea or ocean and right click (spring blocks are usually almost fully water the sloping ones are the ones that aren't usually a spring block.

i tried all of the above and it still wont work... i think it might be something wrong w/ my minecraft.jar

Do you have a texture pack? If so then if it is not a well known or well made texture pack you are using you might actually be picking water up, you just can see the difference because the texture pack you are using hasn't made one. This might sound silly but if all else fails it's worth a go :).

I doubt it's a problem with your minecraft.jar, try what others have posted again and if it really is a problem with your minecraft.jar then just force update, simple as that.

Have you attempted to right click with the bucket out? If that dosn't work make sure you're trying to take wate from the ocean ad not a river or waterfall.
