Building high up!

Hi, I'm Kato, and new here. So, I like to build things that are standing upright as opposed to in the ground. Makes it look cooler imo.
Some examples:
That was originally going to be see-through, but the sand fell.. Didn't really think it through.

I fixed that edge of obsidian near his left cheek right after this.
My latest :] Probably done before like Link, but, I had fun with it. First one on my server!
Now, a question for you. I like making these, but, I fall off due to the lack of sneak, or I'm pushed, and stairs take longer than the actual building. I'd -really- like the ability to fly like I see on some other servers. How would I go about getting it?

Flight
Flying is from the World of Minecraft client, here are MY easy steps to do it(the download pages steps are kinda confusing)
1. goto this link
2. Download World of Minecraft from the bottom of the post
3. click this and save it to %yourwomfolder\lib
4. run run.bat and type in your user and pass
5. Select a server from the list, if you wanna easily go back to a server, click the server, copy the adress from the bottom of the window, click the add button(should be on to the upper right of the bookmarks box), type in the name then paste the address.

Did you know that building sprites flat on the ground is against the rules? It takes too much space. Must've sounded like a new idea at the time though.
