I downloaded the latest Minecraft snapshot 12w41a, and I deleted my minecraft.jar folder like it says and replaced it with the snapshot. When i opened my Minecraft launcher, it says ''Updating Minecraft'' and the progress bar thingy is almost at the very end and it just stops and sits there like that for hours. i tried the process again multiple times, but it still stayed the same. Can someone please help?

No I didn't think to uninstall META-INF.... I will try. So what I should do is delete META-INF and if that doesn't work try to download a previous snapshot?

And I thought you only uninstall META-INF when installing mods...

Yeah it might not do anything. Maybe the latest snapshot counts as a mod? I don't know. I've never really had any problems with snapshots. Did you try it more then once? Maybe when you tried it it had been set to force update?

I dont really know, I was ready for the Pretty Scary update so i decided to download the snapshot and i am kinda a noob when it comes to this stuff. so i just youtubed it and did what it said. and it just knida froze on the Updating Minecraft screeen in my launcher

Just replace the jar file not the entire folder..
look on YouTube for how to install updates manually for minecraft, Any version is the same.

All i replaced was the .jar file. And I deleted the the snapshot and replaced that with the 1.3.2 .jar and it still does the same thing, says Upddating Minecraft and freezes

It's been a while since i installed snapshots, do you need to delete the META-INF folder for them? And if so did you? What i would do is go back to the normal minecraft, and then try installing one of the previous snapshots instead and see if you can get that one to work. Then try this one again and make sure you do everything the same.
