Can't connect to a certain server??

Hey guys this is my first post here :) Anywho, my question is about if somebody would be kind enough to explain what possibly could be wrong.
Ok here is my problem - I am trying to connect to a certain server, which mind you I have be playing on for quite some time now, but everytime I try and join the server I get " Internal Exception: Java.io.IOException: Bad Packet id 36 " I have scoured the internet looking for a source of the problem but to no avail.
