i cant connect to my own server when i use the client. i think this is because in order to play on your own server u need $override=true at the end of the url when playing on minecraft.net. i tried putting this into the url spot on the client but it still dont work. it just comes up, failed to connect to the server. its probably down. is there anyway to fix this? i would really like to play on my server :). can u make it so the client accepts &override=true?
Thanks
I didn't know you actually needed the override to play on your own server, but the only way I can think to add that on to it is to copy the the server URL from the .txt document which holds it, paste it into the client, and then add the override at the end of it.
What server software are you using? McLawl, McForge, Minecraft Dedicated Software?
im using mcforge and when i add the override to the url in World of Minecraft client it just says not a valid url
Two possible solutions, one is you need to port forward, you can look up how to do that on YouTube, or Google, another solution is.... gah! Brainfart! Ill post the other one in the morning, my brain is at 2MB Ram..... running vista.
i dont think anyone understands the problem. people can join server, port forwarding is not the problem. when i goto minecraft.net and try and join my server it says that i need to goto a different page, that different page just adds &override=true to the end of the link, then i can join my server. what im trying to do it play on World of Minecraft but i cant because World of Minecraft client doesnt accept the &override=true therefore i cant play on my server using World of Minecraft client.
