Me and my friends have the beta version of Minecraft, and we are very eager to play. Most servers have loads and loads of people, and we want our own server to operate on.

The problem is that I have followed several guides on the internet how to set up a server. I have downloaded the server software, launched the server, but I just can not connect.

I have done the port forwarding and it works, but I can not even log in myself... What am I doing wrong?
