Can't find ANY servers on the World of Minecraft client

I click on the servers box and it says "Minecraft.net received incomplete server details.
Missing: Server IP, Server Port, User, Passcode." Is it something to do with me using a mac or something else?

i have no servers box in my client. I have login and single player
when you log in, you get a blank list of servers and maps and a box to manually input a play.jsp link...

You need use your minecraft.net username and password.
Make sure to get them correct!
