Before I start yes i read the readme yes i followed the instructions I believe. I have owned minecraft for a few weeks now so when i downloaded the client I extracted it and then clicked/drug the minecraft application into the lib folder Hit run.bat ...and I get the error message saying it cannot find minecraft.jar in the lib folder..well it doesnt say .jar it just says application but thats the same thing isnt it? So....am i just stupid or is something not right? thanks in advance

ok i have the minecraft.jar file in the lib folder...and it still doesnt work help?

Are you wanting to play alpha or creative?

The World of Minecraft client can't be used to play alpha. Here's what you do: take the alpha file out of the World of Minecraft client and place it somewhere you'll remember it. Next: double click on it. You should get a login screen. Login and play :D
Also, for creative, click on the run.bat
