Concerning World of Minecraft Client -- Program freeze

Okay, so I get into the client just fine-- the server list pops up and I connect to a server. I wait for the server to open and I'm in.
I go to click on the window to start playing and... the game freezes solid. I can't move, I can't look around, I can't chat, or pause... nothing. The program freezes up completely.... I have restarted the program numerous times to no avail-- it still keeps on freezing up.
Any advice?

yeah. same problem here. usually it's more simpler to wait it out. that's what I did.
