I can connect to my own SMP server using the offical minecraft client, but when I try to connect using World of Minecraft, I get this:

[INFO] Disconnecting /127.0.0.1:52293: Protocol error
[INFO] Disconnecting /127.0.0.1:52293: Protocol error
[INFO] Disconnecting /127.0.0.1:52293: Protocol error

[INFO] Disconnecting /127.0.0.1:52293: Protocol error
[INFO] /127.0.0.1:52293 lost connection

I am trying to connect using this URL:

http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?ip=127.0.0.1&port=25565

If I switch from localhost IP to the actual IP, the results are the same. I HAVE spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out why this is happeneing, and could not find any answers. Any ideas?

Ok.

You can't connect beta (SMP) from the World of Minecraft Client. Protocol doesn't support it. You can thank Notch for that.
