I do not know if World of Minecraft uses special servers? But, i play classic multiplayer MC on my friends own hostet server (downloaded from minecraft.net) and i join by typing his IP address.
I downloaded World of Minecraft client, because i want to use flying etc. but i need a url to connect to his server.
I tried using the www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?ip=blablaport)=blabla
Doesnt work.
Tried setting my own server up locally and connecting with the World of Minecraft client to localhost (www.minecraft.net/play.jsp=iplocalhost bla bla)
Doesnt work
So therefore i ask, does World of Minecraft client only work on special World of Minecraft servers???
well i didnt try thru the web version.
When i join other servers, like servers posted on this site, the join address have a whole other syntax than "ip?="
And creating a local server, i cannot join with the World of Minecraft client.
An ip is for the smp servers, which is the ip of the hosting computer. Classic servers use the minecraft.net/play.jsp format. There should be a file in the server that gives that address.
Also, make sure your friend has port forwarded the port he is putting the server on.
Yes my friend have ports forwarded. We normally play at his server, just by connectiong to his external wan ip.
Then i found your World of Minecraft client, but cannot connect to his server.
Alright, I can get as far as
http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?ip=IPADDRESSHERE&port=25565
But, it needs username and password. What's the syntax I need for that?

The World of Minecraft client should work for all the classic servers. Have you been able to connect to your friends server thru the browser version?
