I googled for HOURES!!!

I dumped a level where I made a beutiful castle, and now I want to edit it in singleplayer where I won't risk griefing. BUT, I don't know how to convert my .dat file into a .mine file.
PLEASE, help me (I also have a .lvl file of the map, a way to convert .lvl into .mine would also work good).
