Hey, I finally bought minecraft, but My name still has not gone through SMP witelist and whenever I type in a server IP, My browser completely crashes! This is really frustrating, help would be much welcome.

That would do absolutely nothing. As far as I am concerned, they are the same except for offline playing. Please, correct me if I am wrong.

You really could just try and see if downloading it helps. Some mods and tutorials can help you allocate more memory in Java, which can definitely help a ton if it's a Java related issue. Good luck! <3

Well, I tried downloading it on my windows computer from the windows option, and guess what? while downloading, it stops about 60% through and keeps acting like it is downloading and the bar is stuck.

Got minecraft to download, and managed to play on a few servers, but now whenever I try to connect to a server, it says this long, complex error message about Java.

What's your Java version?
64 or 32 bit OS?

1. I have 32 bit java.
2. That crash message came up again with not being able to log in again. this morning, it was working perfectly.

Maybe you should download the actual Minecraft client instead of playing in browser...
