I recently started up a minecraft server (not survival multi) and joined this forum. I used the Mcsharp package. I had also seen this other server, which had sever different maps that were connected. How would you do this? I want to make three more different maps, one for guests, one for builders, and one for ops. How would I be able to link these maps together and make it so that only guests can build on one, builders and ops on another, and only ops on one? I also want to add some commands, like flying and such.
Thanks for the advice. How would I connect the worlds though? I have also built several things on the server, so how would I transfer them?
you create the worlds in the worlds tab on config tool (name the map for example thunder1) and start the server and type /goto (name of the world) and once ur in the world you wanted to go just start building. all the worlds you build will be in the *maps* folder, saved there. if you want to transfer lets say the world *main* goto config tool>worlds>select a world and click *edit*. than click load file>browse and choose the world thats on the *maps* folder just wait till it generates and click *ok*. now you have the same buldings and stuff in the a different world world. you do the same thing if you want to copy a world you made in MCsharp. idk if this helps just be more specific and i'll help you out
That's exactly what I wanted to know. I also want to know how to link worlds together; I want to be able to have people walk through a gate or something and they'll be in another world. Also, how do I make people admin, op, or regular?
lets say you want to promote me alboXblood. to promote me or "dispromote" me you type /rank alboXblood *rank name, example Op*. YOU HAVE TO BE A -OP OR OWNER TO DO THIS. also an -op cant promote someone to owner. you can edit what premissons does a rank have by going to config tool>ranks> click on the rank you want to edit and check or uncheck the commands they can use.
You've helped me quite a bit... I think I'll use fcraft for now then. And you can visit my server if you want. The name is Random Minecraft Server.
Like the subject says I need to make some maps for my a server that I will be running. I found that fCraft is a great server (for private use) if you don't get to many people on. With more people you get more greifers, and since you can't /undo other players in fCraft or use /binfo it is a worthless greifer protection. Only down side is that setting up the ranks is a bit of a pain in the *cough* but once you figure it out it gets really easy. So if someone could tell me how to create worlds in McLawl it would be nice. Sorry for any typeing errors. I was doing fast typing here.
For McForge I know it's /newlvl 128 128 128 flat
You can change the 128 to the size and flat to things like desert

as a starter i would recomend fcraft which you can download here you download it, extract it since its a zip file and run fcraftUI. than just close it and open config tool. there you have many options one is to create worlds (click worlds>add worlds). than save and run fcraftUI again copy the link or just click play. you can change worlds by typing /goto and the name of the world. here are some other custom servers you can use: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Custom_server_list
