this is what i think would be cooler Long ago when the gods formed this world the made a force of light named Nordrassial and a force of distruction named Xaxas. Xaxas rose to power forming evil minions and causeing distruction in his path, on his reign he distroyed citys and towns breainging the human race to its downfall. as nordrassal saw this he grouped with the remaining human heros and defeated Xaxas returning him to his domain, the nether, but the god Nordrassil was obliterated in the prosses. tho Xaxas is gone mis Minions still remain. there are still children of Nordrassil remaining (op's and admins). 300 years in the future the humans have rebuilt there citys.but we elders know that soon Xaxas shall have his reveange............ i think a story like that would be EPIC! you can chage the names but i tind Xaxas (Zac-zasand Nordarassial (Nord-rass(as in grass)-ill) sound the coolest

It all began with a clash of waves on the shoreline. The Three who shook the Earth and created land masses all over the planet. The Three Gods. The creators of the people who follow them today.
Zifirous, He is a a figure of darkness, he would like his philosphies be the only ones. Evil and hate, war and murder. His followers are darkened with hate and evil. They liked to be known as Assassins.
Romentus, He was a man of his word. He often hated his godly counterpart Zifirous. He wanted to bring peace to the world because he forseen a world where people can be together without killing or hate. His followers are often called Enlightened.
Dergis, He was short man. He resembled the medieval race, dwarves. He was the oldest of the godly counterparts and never cared for war and thought peace could never happen. He figured all the guilds would stay neutral to each other for infinity when the time comes. His followers are called Derglings.
Guild Leaders:
-Fugitivebush (Zifirous, Assassins)
-Flashyink (Dergis, Derglings)

Guilds are the "nations" if you will call them of this server. They are groups that serve their respective god. They can not be captured by other guilds only destroyed and mutilated. Be warned guilds ARE NOT KINGDOMS... do not build a castle or manor or w/e. There are no kings just leaders, the leaders dont get titles either. Your just as special as your fellow followers except you lead them to their god.

I admin on World of Minecraft and two other classic servers. I've played on many other role playing servers before.
I feel like I deserve it because I can show great leadership. I am a great team player. Also I could easily fit the description of Romentus because I am very peaceful. Not to mention I have a great way of organizing a guild.
The only client I have ever used is obviously the World of Minecraft Classic Client and I have only used it for my administrative duties and some building, not griefing.
I have NEVER been banned or kicked and I surely won't.
ALSO: Can admins kick or ban or other administrative commands?

I have been playing minecraft since about two and a half months before the halloween update and am a respected player on many servers(including World of Minecraft) and I played on Lost Lands.
Because I am a good designer and have lots of experience.
I have not, just used the World of Minecraft client to fly in classic build.
I have only been banned on Lost Lands, because of the white list. :D

I was thinking about making donator option in which u would be able to get the TNT, and nicer things. There also trusted members in which they get virtually the same thing except maybe some more kits for nicer things and it doesnt cost anything.
Except Trusted you have had to known me from before like the Lost Lands server OR for new players, play a total of 1 day on the server, contributed to your guild, and the admins need to have known you.
Whitelist is also maybe on the server. I was going to see test to see if we need a WL and if it would get griefed heavily it would be WL TIME!!!!

There are no kings; the leaders are the admins also. Your just the follower of the three guilds that follow their respective god. No you can't make another god to make another guild. We can't spread out the people; then one guild will barely have enough people to be called a guild and what not.
It is a SMP/RP server because RP is fun and all, but it isn't as fun without the survival part.
There is also NO PEACE. Everyone is at war; it may not be a decisive war for some because of the guilds standards, but no PEACE with any other guilds.
PVP will be on; Along with Mobs. ( Don't cry to me about Mobs; it gives the realistic aspect and diffculty)
I will have a few Mods like:
-iConomy
-etc.
If you want admin, flurry, then you should apply. Also, if you don't get admin, IMA personally make you Op though. You Deserve Either One! :DDD

I really do not want to lead a guild so you could do the leading part for me if you want, for i would rather just have it so that the admins, admined there guild and let the players do the bulk of the decision making. At least this is how I will be running my guild, but the people who are in the guild must elect their leader (shouldn’t be hard you’re an awesome guy XD) or I might just appoint someone to lead, and only worry about it if the guild members want someone else. Anyway this is how I am running my guild so if you would like to lead it it would be great. XD but I understand if you’d rather try being admin or oped.

The great god Dergis being alone in the universe took a speck of dust and made a planet, this planet would come to be called (inserts name of server here). He then pulled a grand ocean from its depths; once this was done he lifted the land from the eternal ocean. Dergis than molded the mountains and valleys and all other landmass into the crust to give space for life to grow. Then Dergis made Zifirous, to give darkness to all parts of the world. Then he made Zifirous a brother, Romentus, to give light and allow the growing things to thrive. Once the land was formed and molded, he breathed onto the land, man. Romentus then took man and filled them with braver and justice and love for the world that they populated. Zifirous feeling cheated stole man, filling them with hate and anger and twisting there sense of justice into chaotic madness and so he created the Assassins. Dergis knowing what Zifirous did banishing him to the nether where he would be locked in molten lava for eternity; this fight did not go well for Dergis, for Zifirous had grown more powerful from the followers of the dark. Zifirous struck a fatal wound to Dergis, but Dergis managed to trap Zifirous in the underworld in the process. Dergis then saved what he could of men, who were now rampaging across the land burning and killing everything they meet. The ones that Dergis saved where only saved from the darkness in their hearts, for they were still insane. Romentus knowing that if the assassins where aloud to go unchecked they would destroy themselves and everything that made up the world, To stop this he gave a part of himself to these few survivors. Though it weakened Romentus he managed to free the minds of these men and so they became the Enlightened. Lastly Dergis molded a new race from his own flesh, building them in his image; he then blew life into them. They would come to be known as the Derglings. Derglings where incorruptible being made from Dergis himself, They would became neutral in the great struggle between good and evil, For they are in wait, in wait of the day when they can repay Dergis for his selfish act.

You have a choice of a couple of Factions to join, they each have their gods:
The Derglings --- who worship their god, Dergis.
The Enlightened --- who worship their god, Romentus.
The Assassins --- who worship their god, Zifirous.
Pick n' Choose.
A Small Bio on Zifirous.
Zifirous saw war and hatred as a way to convert/eliminate other followers of Gods who Zifirous did not like. He corrupted the mines of people to give them hatred and evil , so they could start wars and pillage villages. He wanted all life forms to hate so that maybe, one day, his followers will be victories and convert/eliminate every non-worshipper. Although, he left one creature out of his raid of hatred. He let the animal, the sheep, show kindness and peace to Zifirous's followers. For he would have died if not without one. It gave it's wool to him. Basically it's life for his. He then promised the sheep and his future successors the gift of life, in exchange for their wool to the follower. The follower must not kill any sheep, and if they do. The promise of the gift of life to every sheep will be broken. That is why the Sheep is so sacred. Zifirous was then casted down into the Nether by Dergis and lies there today for someone to open a portal, so he can escape.

I decided this....
We will not have a Faction/Story RP/SMP Server anymore.
It will be a Hardcore RP/SMP server with no story. Just roleplay life. I like the aspect of SMP and you can still RP by interacting with another by trading, fighting, selling/buying, making cities together, w/e.
I just don't like the idea anymore of storyline RP in MC.
On a different note, the server has got a Hardcore Spleef Arena (Basically you lose, you die. LAVA!!)
We will also have a PvP arena soon and a Marketplace somewhere in the Vacinity of the Two Minecraft Sport Arenas.

I have been looking for a good RP / Guild server for a while and have found absolutely none that could even be considered a reliable source for entertainment and fun. This is very disappointing. Upon further investigation of this matter, I have found that whitelisted servers are often populated with much more mature people. This forum captured my attention once I read the post about an evil god filled with hate and greed for death and murder. I have always liked the idea of living on the fringe of society in games like this. So again I would love to join and I hope to bring many ideas to the table for this server :)

I wasn't thinking and I was in a mode of regular survival
server.
Now that I got my mind straight, I decided that it would best TO KEEP THE
FACTIONS EXCEPT THEY ARE NOT MANDATORY, THEY ARE OPTIONAL.
So for people who like to RP you can join a Faction or go off and Roleplay a
City with people and for those who like regular survival with a hint of
Roleplay, can just survive the server. When the Mobs get turned on.
SO YOU CAN STILL ROLEPLAY THE FACTIONS!!! It is just optional for people
who rather play regular SMP (survival mode)

The web server is struggling, we’re migrating
Once again, minecraft.net is more popular than the poor old server can keep up with, so we’re upgrading. I’m not quite sure how long it will take to get done as it’s mostly Tobias doing the work (thank you, sir!). We’ve got a huge amazon cloud server which we’re moving the main server to. We’ll be able to replicate this as demand grows, and we’ll have a load balancer set up in front of it all. Skin downloads will almost certainly be migrated to S3 downloads instead of going through resin as it does now, and we’ll have a separate server just to handle game logins and auth requests.
In other news, we spent the day today out of the office in various cafés, as the floor was getting fixed. And we got the Machinima.com IGA awards! They’re pretty!

For Minecraft development, we’re working on the new file format, and a new game launcher. The file format is still in early testing, but it’s looking somewhat promising, except for it taking up a bit too much space. It’s faster, though.
The new Launcher will be a bit prettier, will show release notes and other news, will send login requests over https (finally), and will ask if the user wants to update to the latest version or not. In the future, we’ll add support for playing the previous installed version (after warning the player that there might be unexpected bugs) and the ability to choose what work directly to save the level files, but that’s not coming in this version.
We’ve got a meeting planned for tomorrow with some community members to discuss how to best implement the modding.

Hey, I'd like to join the server if you all don't mind. I've been looking for Beta servers since I bought it (back in Alpha), but I couldn't find any reliable servers. The Lost Lands was always down. I joined it the day after it was made, but when I came back a week later it was always having some sort of trouble and then the whole whitelist thing started, so I never actually played in it.
But yeah, I like RP games, and Minecraft is fun, so I'd like to join in on the fun.

I'm 17, Senior and I'm homeschooled, so I have a lot of free time.
Before I bought Alpha, I played in D3:Nuthen's Server, and I never griefed or did anything ban-worthy, so you won't have to worry about that. I'm not really a fan of wasting time by deleting random blocks.
I'll be honest, though, I won't really stick to one job. I like to build, mine, and explore caves. And I like to build railway systems. So don't expect me to stick to one job.
But yeah, I'd really like to join the server, because playing Single Player does get boring.

We've almost finished setting up the ground (flattining it and stuff) and are starting out Fully Automated Subway Train or F.A.S.T and we also have our rule boards up and I am working on the Pit Of Punishment or P.O.P. Right now we don't have that much of an organized job system, but when we set up we will. Our plands include having 2 HUFE floors with housing and recreational activitys on the second and guild buildings on the 1st (stores, farms, F.A.S.T, P.O.P, town square, etc. So please come and join The Derglings today! We will also give you a free iron tool of your choice when you join! ( By the way we LOVE acronyms! )

I would just like to point out that none of the guilds are currently "EPIC." They're coming along nicely, but they're still new, therefor incapable of any epicosity. Yeah, epicosity. I said it.
That word is over used enough, let's not further ruin it. Flurry, you may want to give a little more background about the guild, by the way. Out of the new people that got on the server today, they were choosing which guild they would join based on what each guild had set in place already, so, like HappyTim did, you may want to post about what you've got set in place, what's to come, and some lore if you so choose to.
Just some helpful tips.
I'm loving the new server so far, though. I've met some pretty cool people, and I like looking out across the sea from the top of my home. Plus, the glowing crosses scattered around are like little jewels, shimmering in the distance (lolwhat).
But yeah, I'm enjoying the server. Nice, fun people.

I'd pretty much like to join this game if you folks don't mind. I'm a laid back mature player who enjoys a good buildin' and RPin'. I wouldn't mind which guild I am attributed to nor which 'class' I get to enjoy. I'm no griefer and never have, neither did I ever use any mods nor hacks. blargh beta experience? i dont have much experience in beta although i have my own server and i'm close to an owner of another server which is really cool but its been offline for a while. I know a bit about modding for example in my server i have the command mod and am about to add the mo' creatures mod :D. doing the chest protection mod and will eventually get around to learning about npcs

Lol i don't think i deserve it because all i've done is write up and application but in the future if i become friends with more people on the server then maybe i might deserve it :)

Haha. guilty... I use the custom client for classic servers mainly because everyone else has it and it doesn't actually feel like hacking although. On my beta server i used invedit just to build the starter castle before i put server online but rarely ever used it after that. I griefed in my first couple of days in minecraft (like everyone else) but since then never griefed. was a very long time ago...

Kicked and banned from a couple of servers in the first few days of play but like i said VERY long time ago.

Yeah, I'd prefer we don't have so many people in the early days of the server. I understand the guilds have to recruit and whatnot, but let us be honest, I'm seeing everyone convert to Dergling, anyway. Until Bush can focus on recruiting instead of getting the server prepared, I don't think there should be many new "recruits."
I gave the IP to two of my best friends that I know in real life, and they're living on my grounds at the moment. I'll most likely be joining the Assassin's due to a shortage of them, and because that was my initial choice. Both of my friends will also be joining them, should I make the decision.
