Downloading packages error

Hey guys, just bought Minecraft, and when I log in, it says ''downloading packages''.
However, the download bar wont go further that a centimeter or so, so i won't be able to play, because it can't update. Any idea what the issue is ? Thanks :)
ps: already shut down my firewall.

go here and download that and
go here and download that and extract it to your desktop or whatever (its my minecraft.jar file and its updated so you will not need update).
once its downloaded go to USER>appdata>roaming>.minecraft>bin and replace the minecraft(.jar) with the one you just downloaded. hope i helped.

I've had the same problem and was stuck for ages trying to get it to work. Try running Minecraft as administrator, it worked for me.
