End of Stream error

Hi i just updated my minecraft to version 1.2.3 and everytime i try to join mine or a friends server it says connection lost end of stream. any help would be greatly appreciate. and i bought the game and used the server.exe of of minecrafts website

if you have the original minecraft server program, go here http://www.minecraft.net/download and if you are using bukkit, bukkit haven't update their software
